Laura Matos

Laura works across all client teams in the New Jersey office, specializing in labor, coalition management and higher education. She maintains an in-depth understanding of government processes and their intersections with the private sector, along with the workings of campaigns and managing large-scale coalitions.

Prior to joining Kivvit, Laura served on staff with three New Jersey governors in positions ranging from deputy director of scheduling to director of operations. While serving in state government, she was responsible for coordinating and overseeing a vast array of public policies across all state departments. Laura also served as director of business development and communications at a top New Jersey law firm. In 2016, she took a leave of absence from Kivvit to serve as New Jersey Political Director for Hillary Clinton’s primary campaign and served as an at-large delegate at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. 

Laura also served on numerous boards for Governor Phil Murphy, including the 2017 Transportation and Infrastructure Transition Advisory Committee, the New Jersey Complete Count Commission and currently the Governor’s Restart and Recovery Advisory Council.

Laura also serves as President of the Board of LUPEPAC.

Laura attended Rutgers University and lives in Belmar, NJ with her husband and their dog, Chandler.
