Carmelina Perea
With decades of global organizational management and marketing and public relations experience, Carmelina is a proven leader and an expert in large-scale event production and branding. She provides best-in-class solutions to support her clients’ organizational goals and enterprise-wide initiatives. Carmelina has wide-ranging expertise in travel and tourism in the public and private sectors, trade show industry event production planning and execution, marketing, and public relations.
Before joining Kivvit, Carmelina worked in the government and private sector, as well as in global organizations across the world, including Guatemala, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Most recently, she led successful global summits in Mexico and Manila as events director in the Madrid office of the World Travel and Tourism Council. Before that, she worked with the G20 as a senior communications consultant, where she collaborated in the design and implementation of a strategy that increased media coverage by 450% while developing a responsive crisis management program.
Previously, she served as communications director in accountability for the Inter-American Development Bank, where she led efforts to elevate awareness, transparency, accountability, and compliance.
Prior to that, Carmelina served as international press deputy director for the president of Mexico. In this position, she wrote speeches for country leaders, engaged with international correspondents, and drafted daily briefings for Mexico’s president.
Carmelina also ran her own PR firm, where she managed national and international media, led media training workshops, conducted crisis management efforts, coordinated press conferences, and more. She also served with the Mexico Tourism Board, promoting the country as a global tourist destination.
Carmelina speaks fluent English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and she currently lives in Miami.
