ASGK, M Public Affairs merge to become Kivvit

ASGK Public Strategies and M Public Affairs have merged and rebranded as Kivvit. The two firms have been jointly owned since 2010. Year-over-year growth of more than 20% dating back to 2009, new partnerships, geographic expansion, and additional capabilities, made Kivvit’s debut possible, according to a company statement.

ASGK, M Public Affairs Become Kivvit

ASGK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based shop of Eric Sedler and David Axelrod, has merged with its New Jersey-based sibling M Public Affairs under the name Kivvit. Sedler said his firm, which backed M PA founder and campaign strategist Maggie Moran (pictured with Sedler) in 2010, outgrew its name. He and Moran serve as managing partners for the expanding firm, which reached Miami in January and counts 60 staffers and $12.5M in 2014 revenues, with additional outposts in Washington and New York.

MAGGIE’S FIRM — M Public Affairs, the firm founded by New Jersey Democratic political operative Maggie Moran, is going through a rebranding and merger with ASGK Public Strategies, the firm co-founded by top Obama adviser David Axelrod and Eric Sedler. The two firms, which have actually been jointly owned since 2010, will now be just one with 60 employees. It’s called Kivvit. Moran and Sedler “will lead Kivvit in establishing the brand and positioning the firm for the future,” according to a press release, which said the merger and rebranding is the result of rapid growth.

ASGK Public Strategies, the Chicago-based PR and media consultancy, announced that it's merging with M Public Affairs, a New York-based strategy firm, and rebranding to Kivvit, which is an Inuit word for "valuable" or "durable." The rebrand is a result of double-digit growth annually since 2009.  (The "A" in ASGK stood for David Axelrod, one of "the hottest, most successful political and media consultants ever to come out of Chicago," according to Crain's).

M Public Affairs and ASGK Public Strategies announced Wednesday they would merge operations under a new name: Kivvit. The two companies have been owned by the same parent company since 2010, and ASGK opened an office in Miami in January. Since then, the communications house has added the Miami Beach Convention Headquarter Hotel, Miami Open and Bal Harbour Shops as clients.
