Kivvit Continues 2016 Growth with Addition of Seven New Team Members

Asbury Park -- Award-winning national public affairs and communications firm Kivvit continues to grow its New York and New Jersey offices with the addition of seven new professionals covering a variety of specialties.

“We continue to grow our capabilities across all public affairs disciplines,” said Managing Partner Maggie Moran. “Whether it’s operations in the digital space, press and earned media, advertising or public affairs strategy development, our team’s growth reflects the fact that we’re always working to expand our capabilities in ways that will help our clients achieve their strategic goals.”

Deidrea Miller joins the firm to continue building Kivvit’s digital strategy practice. She brings a wealth of public affairs, marketing, and digital experience in the energy, finance, government and education sectors. Deidrea specializes in communicating complex and nuanced stories across the full range of digital and traditional marketing channels. She joins Kivvit from the New York University Silver School of Social Work where she oversaw all marketing efforts for the school in Buenos Aires, New York City, Paris, and Shanghai. Previously, she led digital strategy and presence for the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and served as the New York City Department of Education’s first deputy press secretary under Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Since March, Kivvit has also welcomed Finance and Administrative Coordinator Jerry James and new associates Michael Galotti, Julian Hannush, and Rachel Rosenck to its New York City office. During that same time, senior associate Brianna Earle and associate Dante Moyer joined the firm’s New Jersey office. In addition, Kivvit NYC also welcomed two new additions from the firm’s other offices: Shea Savaria from New Jersey and Michael Johnston from Washington, DC.

Jerry James previously served as Manager of Operations, managing HR, Finance and IT infrastructure at Urban Green Council, the New York City Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council; and GBCHealth, an international public health organization established by the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Richard Holbrooke.  Jerry holds a B.B.A in Management, from Northwood University.

Michael Galotti has held internships in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, having worked under U.S. Representative Eliot Engel and U.S. Senator Charles Schumer. In this capacity, Michael provided support in communications, constituent outreach, and general operations. Michael earned his Master’s degree in Elections and Campaign Management from Fordham University, where he was awarded a Pollie for his senior capstone project on campaign strategy. Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Global Politics from the University at Albany.

Julian Hannush developed his skills in politics and advocacy. He’s worked on a variety of state and local political campaigns across the Pacific Northwest. He’s interned for both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, and supported a federal congressional re-election campaign. In New York City, he worked in fundraising for Action Against Hunger, an international NGO. Julian earned his B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Washington in Seattle. He also completed an affiliate student program at University College London in the United Kingdom, where he researched international climate and trade policy.

Rachel Roseneck worked at a political public relations firm where she provided strategic communications support to clients across a range of industries, including non-profit organizations and trade associations. Rachel earned her Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from Fordham University. While at Fordham, she worked as an intern at Kivvit’s predecessor, M Public Affairs, and prior to that, in the press office of New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
