"After 15 years working in government, politics and law, I'm now able to apply these experiences at Kivvit, a firm that's working on so many important issues going on in Chicago," said Sleet.

"Kivvit works on the most high-profile and complex communications and public policy challenges. Brian's expertise will be instrumental in helping our clients achieve their goals in this environment," said Managing Partner Eric Sedler.

Most recently, Brian served as the campaign manager for Kim Foxx for Cook County State's Attorney. Brian is widely credited with engineering a turnaround of the campaign, resulting in Foxx defeating a two-term incumbent by more than 30% points in the Democratic primary.

Sawyer, Alderman of Chicago's 6th Ward. In that role, Brian focused on community development, economic growth, and city governance. Additionally, Brian functioned as a key staff figure with the Chicago Progressive Reform Caucus as well as the Chicago Aldermanic Black Caucus.

Earlier work includes serving as a team supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau central office and as Deputy District Administrator for the Second Congressional District of Illinois. Prior to entering into the public sector, Brian worked as a litigator in his own law firm, specializing in criminal defense and family law.

He was a member of the inaugural 2014 Chicago Urban League IMPACT Fellowship class, and has been recognized for leadership with awards from the LINK Unlimited Associate Board and the Congressional Black Caucus.
