Kivvit Chicago Bolsters Public Affairs Expertise With Brian Sleet Hire
Kivvit, the award-winning national public affairs and communications firm, announced today that Brian Sleet has joined the firm's Chicago office as a Principal. Brian, a seasoned political professional and trained attorney, brings a wealth of public affairs, policy and campaign experience.

Most recently, Brian served as the campaign manager for Kim Foxx for Cook County State's Attorney. Brian is widely credited with engineering a turnaround of the campaign, resulting in Foxx defeating a two-term incumbent by more than 30% points in the Democratic primary.
Brian previously served as Chief of Staff to the Honorable Roderick T. Sawyer, Alderman of Chicago's 6th Ward. In that role, Brian focused on community development, economic growth, and city governance. Additionally, Brian functioned as a key staff figure with the Chicago Progressive Reform Caucus as well as the Chicago Aldermanic Black Caucus.
Earlier work includes serving as a team supervisor for the U.S. Census Bureau central office and as Deputy District Administrator for the Second Congressional District of Illinois. Prior to entering into the public sector, Brian worked as a litigator in his own law firm, specializing in criminal defense and family law.
Brian is a dedicated civic leader, currently serving on the Board of Directors at Chicago Votes Action Fund. He was a member of the inaugural 2014 Chicago Urban League IMPACT Fellowship class, and has been recognized for leadership with awards from the LINK Unlimited Associate Board and the Congressional Black Caucus.
Brian earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Brian was born and lives in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood.
