Major Beverage Company
In the spring of 2013, one of the world’s largest beverage companies came under attack in New York State. In the eleventh hour of the legislative session in Albany, a bill was introduced that would result in hundreds of millions of dollars in lost revenue. Despite our client’s large New York presence, legislators were unaware of the potential damage to the company or its suppliers, vendors, employees, and community partners.
With only a matter of days before the bill was scheduled for a vote, Kivvit was engaged to develop a rapid response campaign to influence the lawmakers who could decide the bill’s fate.
Kivvit immediately set up a “war room” in Albany to bring together all the members of the campaign team. Under Kivvit’s leadership, the war room operation prioritized target legislators to engage, honed our messaging to underscore our client’s footprint in each priority district, and mobilized a coalition of credible third party supporters. Our grassroots campaign then generated thousands of phone calls and letters to legislative decision makers and stakeholders. As a result, the bill was never brought to the floor, allowing our client’s New York business to continue to grow.
